No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Cloud Web Hosting
We've dealt with the problem of silent data corruption on all our cloud web hosting servers by using the hi-tech Z file system, or ZFS. The latter is better than other file systems as it is the only one on the market that checks all of the files instantly by employing a checksum - a digital identifier that's unique for each and every file. When you upload content to your account, it will be stored on several SSD drives and constantly synchronized between them for redundancy. ZFS constantly analyzes the checksum of all files and in case any file is detected as damaged, it is replaced quickly with a good copy from some other disk. As this happens in real time, there is no risk that a corrupted file may remain or may be copied on the other SSDs. ZFS needs lots of physical memory to execute the real-time checks and the advantage of our cloud web hosting platform is that we employ multiple very powerful servers working together. If you host your Internet sites with us, your information will be intact no matter what.
No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Hosting
In case you purchase one of our semi-dedicated hosting plans, you won't have to be concerned about silent file corruption since we use ZFS - a high level file system which checks all of the files in real time. Whenever you upload a file to your website hosting account, ZFS will assign a unique digital fingerprint to it - the so-called checksum. This file will be synced between multiple SSD drives for redundancy, so if one drive fails, the other ones will take over. ZFS compares the checksum of all of the copies on the different drives and when it detects a corrupted copy, it replaces it with a healthy one from a different drive. This happens immediately, so there will be no danger for any part of your content at any time. By comparison, all the other file systems carry out checks only after a system failure, but since they don't use anything similar to the checksums that ZFS uses, they won't detect silently corrupted files, so a corrupted copy could be replicated on the rest of the disks as well and you can lose important information. As this isn't the case with ZFS, we guarantee the integrity of every single file you upload no matter what.
